Also a new randomized phase II study of chemotherapy with a Cox-2 inhibitor Celecoxib called provides no benefit in metastatic pancreatic cancer, as well as two other large phase III studies, see under chemo and pancreatic cancer in alphabetical list of pancreatic information show that chemotherapy in pancreatic cancer earlier works negatively on survival and quality of life than no chemo. In this study, the median...
Chemo and effect in pancreatic cancer: Chemotherapy (5-FU and cisplatin) prior to irradiation with pancreas cancer stage I to III gives no effect on overall survival and only slightly better local control.

Prior to irradiation chemo in the form of 5-FU and cisplatin gives a slightly better control on local pancreatic cancer pancreatic cancer but gives no demonstrable gains in overall survival. Thus the results from a 10-year study in 1 specific hospital with 101 alvleesklierkankerpatienten stage I to III. This seems quite a dramatic result if you consider that in...
Gemzar packed and administered in specially prepared vetbolletjes-cationic liposomes (EndoTAG-1) nearly doubles survival time (from 7.2 to 13.6 months median) of inoperabele alvleesklierkankerpatienten

An interim report of a phase II study shows that when Gemzar is given packed in specially prepared vetbolletjes, the so-called Endo Tag-1 method, then the effectiveness significantly better with darbij also have fewer side effects than when administered systemically Gemzar ... This method of packaging is already...
Gemzar and Xeloda as a combination treatment of pancreatic kankerpatiƫnten with 1,5 month median survival time of 6 months to prolong-7.4 months-jubilation the media after phase III study results.
Posted 22/09/2012 13:08:45Who reads this article will see that all Jubilee on this approach with Xeloda in pancreatic cancer is at least premature. The life extension is only a few weeks compared to other standard treatments and that seems not really much. However, we believe that Xeloda gives fewer side effects and therefore may be preferable to other often more aggressive chemo's. But really affect the life extension Xeloda has not shown in this study.

Gemcitabine to combination FOLFIRINOX (5-fluorouracil, leucovorin, irinotecan, and oxaliplatin) gives no value on disease-free and overall survival in operable pancreatic cancer.

A new analysis of a phase III study also indicates that postoperative gemcitabine and folate in alveesklierkanker no added value in disease-free or overall survival compared FOLFIRINOX. Here the newest abstract that speaks for itself seems. In pancreatic cancer chemotherapy helps almost not because FOLFIRINOX also gives little hope for prevention of recurrence according to recent studies. Read and see once the stories of patients with pancreatic cancer among patients stories...
Gemcitabine plus combination FOLFIRINOX (5-fluorouracil, leucovorin, irinotecan, and oxaliplatin) provides significantly longer median survival time for patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer.

The following new study results released indicating that the chemotherapy combination FOLFIRINOX far better results than gemcitabine for metastatic pancreatic cancer. Although the toxicity does worry argue researchers and doctors make the standard first-line treatment FOLFIRINOX it. Here is the abstract of the study published in the NEJM last week where you pay the full study report in shows:

Chemotherapy plus radiotherapy - chemotherapy before radiation and after surgery for pancreatic cancer after meta-analysis of five large randomized trials indicates a negative outcome on survival rates for operable pancreatic cancer
Posted 22/09/2012 13:07:27May 9, 2012: Many people do not know, but long ago proved: radiotherapy and chemotherapy together with pancreatic cancer shows no positive effect, even negateive outcome in survival and quality of life. Read more articles in the left column and below the article from 2004.

Chemo plus radiation before and after surgery for pancreatic cancer after meta-analysis of five large randomized trials indicates a negative outcome for operable pancreatic cancer patients.
Posted 22/09/2012 13:06:51April 11, 2011: I am cancer-current to the review below and let this article stand as it is still relevant. Chemotherapy plus radiotherapy - radiotherapy gives negative utikomsten on life extension and overall survival in operable pancreatic cancer. But still we hear that some patients this treatment is offered. Seems not correct after this publication already in 2005.

Irradiation prior to surgery for pancreatic cancer would significantly longer survival time and overall survival rate, according to new study. But before irradiation remains controversial, according to researchers.

Irradiation prior to surgery for pancreatic cancer appeared in recent years a treatment that could not be done better, see study results shown at left column on this, because the results in survival and cure proved worse than without irradiation. Now, however, a large conference published a study that would show that irradiation prior to surgery still a...
